Vrill's grown a lot since the days when he was a wee Sandile named after a children's book character. Now that he's evolved he has a little bit more attitude, but he's still fairly docile on the whole. Unlike most Krokoroks, Vrill tends towards being on all fours, not being very bipedal. He likes to curl up on Melaka's bed, bite on things (sometimes shocking them) he's curious about, and playing with Vale.

<ul><li>Vrill was born out of the egg that Melaka received when the active trainers of Union all received pokémon eggs sporting egg moves in the aftermath of their first encounter with the Citadel.  The egg was cared for by Trooper in Melaka's apartment for the most part, confident he could manage it.  She accepted so she wouldn't need to pay breeding center fees.</li>
<li>Melaka was actually there when Vrill was born, and it's there that she learned about the little scamp's egg move - the young crocodile bite down on her hand and electrocuted her.  Mel ended up laughing this off, but the light punch she made in retaliation did spook Vrill.</li>
<li>Vrill was named after a character in a children's book Melaka read in her youth about a duo of pokémon going on a series of misadventures named Vrill and Boluz.  In the story, Boluz was fat and slovenly, and Vrill was a bit hyper, trying to motivate his friend.</li>
<li>Vrill developed somewhat faster than Shiram or Queenie did, in part just due to his breeding, but mostly due to the fact that from a young age, the experience babysitter, Trooper, was managing his development.  Melaka's also contributed, regularly racing him.</li>
<li>The young Sandile has met all of the rest of Melaka's pokémon at least once (except for Brownie), but none of them have interacted very much with him other than his sitter and the two other former babies.  A number of them find his activeness cute.</li>
