But then when she saw that "desert" thing. she has no idea what a desert is, so today she is at the library researching that, mostly because she really doesn't have much better to do today. She is clearly in a better mood though- all her earrings are in place (one of them she even thinks might be gold) and she she has a shiny nose stud in place. But... as she learns more and looks into these things more-

She's gotten over being afraid of the sun (somewhat) in Luceti, mostly because of how dreary winter is, but that desert that... she flips open her journal]

Yes. Gods can be strange and very, ah "hokum" as you put it, but some can be benevolent. Amaterasu herself is a kind goddess, if not sometimes stern, and is very important in my culture.

Well, it's the only desert I've known, so I'm not sure. There was a desert here in Luceti--I'd woken up in it, too, imagine that. But it's been washed away by the ocean now.
