There was a man from a world where becoming a vampire was...sort of an infection. All you needed to do was be bitten, and in three days you'd die and return as a vampire.

Interestingly enough, it didn't apply here. Not for a while, at least. He didn't turn, and after he did, anyone he bit didn't turn up infected.

But lurks...sorry, vampires...were born from humans.

Got that story. Once upon a time, dimensions and demons, then they left. Ones that left bread with humans, hid or... infected. That at one was lurks.

...granted, I've never heard whether one of our vampires would be able to turn a person from a different world. And the Malnosso can even manufacture vampirism here, when they get a mind to.
