[You know she almost, almost signed on for that one mission. A guard, surviving, she knew she could handle it. But then when she saw that "desert" thing. she has no idea what a desert is, so today she is at the library researching that, mostly because she really doesn't have much better to do today. She is clearly in a better mood though- all her earrings are in place (one of them she even thinks might be gold) and she she has a shiny nose stud in place. But... as she learns more and looks into these things more-

She's gotten over being afraid of the sun (somewhat) in Luceti, mostly because of how dreary winter is, but that desert that... she flips open her journal]

Hey, Luceti. Talk to me 'bout the sun. Some of you got tales for it, right? Gotta.

If you're ever interested in trying something different - and when it's not snowing - I wouldn't mind taking you out for a little relaxation.

Consider it something to possibly look forward to when the sun finally does show it's face again.

Even Slayers from the future deserve a little time to enjoy the mundane things.

Relaxation doesn't instantly sell it for you future slayer types?

Where I'm from, laying in direct sun's a good way to go die. Or lose your finger nails... hair if you're lucky.

Sun isn't exactly what we call friendly in the future. Got you.

But, if it means anything, the Luceti sun actually lets you lie in it without burning to a crisp. [ ... ] If you're not a vampire.

Angel sizzled in the sun. Summer or winter. Whenever the sun's up, he starts cooking. I don't. Therefore, it's safe.

Not awake 'bout mutation, are you? [...No, too mean] But you're no slack, I'll trust it.

[ cocked eyebrow. ] Mutation?

Mutation. Sun in Haddyn mutates us if you're in it too long. Makes radies, makes you sick, all sorts of hokum. No one here gives an Aquahog's crack 'bout it though, so I'm 'suming that just sounds spin to you.

It's not normal from where I'm from. And, believe me, if the Luceti sun was anything like that in Haddyn, I'd be sick by now. The walk from my place to anywhere remotely civilised is a very slow and painful process.

So, I can assure you the sun here is safe. Maybe not safe when it comes to sunburn, but no mutations.

[Melaka smirks a little. she could make an argument about cloud cover, but she knows it's a dubious one. She stopped making it to herself a while back]
