So, is this Slayer part two here, show up in some "other world?" Gotta say, this is totally toy if it is.

But hey, girl's gotta do, right? So any lurks out there, here I am. Come find me, I dare you.

[To be honest, she's not sure if she believes this is the case or not. She's just restless - to be out of Versi, to not be near Gates or Erin or her new flat with all the heritage she was just beginning to discover. To assume - or perhaps more accurately, pretend - that showing up in this weird wing-world is an extension of that whole deal.

If anyone wants an action portion instead, she's ~~wishing she had her scythe or blaster~~ hanging out around central plaza, on one of the shop roofs, watching people. At least she has on her own set of clothes by now]

[ she lays the journal out to the page that outlines the villain filter. ]

Here's what's...mostly known. I doubt it's the be all and end all, though.

...Wow. That's a lotta ner-do-wells.

[And now she looks through the list. Weird names]

Unfortunately for here? The less than heroic also have a habit of getting sucked into Bizarro Wing World.

[ she returns to her sandwich. ] But even with these folks? Slaying's a little...complicated. Melaka? People don't die here. Or -- they do. Just not for keeps.

Guy named Derek told me that.

[A beat. Mostly she's pausing to see if Buffy will react to the name, which means she'll trust it as legit]

[ a slight smile. ] Derek didn't steer you wrong.

Good. Harda know who you can trust in the whole "new world" thing. I'll trust bonds for a Slayer.

[A beat]

...'Course, I only got your word you're a Slayer.

...Fine. Pick your poison. Your proof-poison. I'll make good on it.

[ this is a strange position she's never been in, before. ]

[She considers a moment. She doesn't want to break anything in the house, but how can she test it...? Actually. She reaches over to pick up the knife Summers was cutting with]

I don't wanna break your flat here.

...Outside? I mean -- unless you wanna wait for me to prove the regen card and wanna hand that knife back. Though, my roommate is kinda particular about things like that. He might throw a fit if he found out I split my palm open in the middle of the kitchen.

Oh. Was planning on testing the regen, but if it's gunna get you in trouble...

[She sets down the knife, takes one more bite of the sammich, and leaps to her feet]

Trouble? Oh, not trouble. Buffy Summers does not get in trouble. But he's a doctor, you see. Do no harm and all that.

[ she heads for the door. ] Besides, I can offer something a little more on-task than a kitchen knife.

Whatever, Summers. Just as long and I can know you aren't spinning.

[She doesn't - or perhaps doesn't want to think - she is, but... she has to be safe]

By the time we're done? You'll be the one spinning. [ a playful threat, if anything.

buffy stops by the living room on their way out and grabs two short swords. serviceable, not special. ]

...Spled.

[Said sarcastically, but she smiles before going into a seriousface and continuing with the following]

[ buffy leads melaka to the back yard -- a fair, wide expanse. it's visible from some of the other houses but she doesn't predict much misunderstanding from her neighbours.

she tosses one sword to the other slayer. ]

[Melaka catches it. Not with the skill a Slayer might though. She's; barely used a sword, and has no dreams, no memories for a frame of reference for the use of it. She imagines it to be like her - the, she corrects - scythe. And she takes a position with it.

[ a quirk of her brow and she loosens up into a fairly comfortable stance.

come at me, sis. ]

[...Alright, fine.

She comes up for a hamstring strike. A low blow to try to hit her legs, grunting for it]

[ as easy as playing jump rope, buffy hops over the blade and arches her body into a precise little back-flip. no sooner was she back on her feet than she was rushing melaka with a wide swing, midsection right. buffy is holding back. she may believe that this girl is a slayer but it's been a very long while since she's fought another chosen. she needs to recall how to take the kid gloves off. ]

[The wide swing Melaka is able to dodge like it's standing still, and hit her with the hilt of her blade in the gut - or try to anyway at the end of her spinning out of the way]

[ buffy then employs a favourite tactic of hers. she takes the knock to the gut, grunting with pain as the hilt thuds against her solar plexus; however, this allows her to stay all that closer to melaka. she reaches out with her off-hand to haul melaka closer by the shoulder and head-buts her. ]

[Um wow. That dazes her. It dazes her for all of two seconds - but in a fight with someone on par with her two seconds might be deadly. So I'm making this reply to see if Buffy reacts well]

[ damn straight, she reacts. buffy takes those two seconds and slips her short sword's blade up to melaka's throat. light, non-dangerous pressure. ]

[Oh Jesu, she's fast - faster than Icarus, father than the lurks she's fought before now. Her eyes widen a little when she feels the point after the daze corrects itself. But, less than a second later...

She doesn't do stand offs

She does a standing leap backwards into a handstand, cocking her upper body back and trying to kick Buffy in the process. Sure she needs to let go of the sword to do that, but she'll leap right back to her feet after springing from the handstand and try to retrieve it]
