Didn't he? Not saying I was flattered or it was even that nice, but I dunno if it was stupid.

Say you did agree. I don't know -- whatever hypothetical reason. And say you slayed the big bad vamp. And say he came back in a week, but missing a part of him. The part of him that's keeping Angel from torturing us all. And tearing our throats out. And using every psychological terror he could devise on us. Then we'd be well and royally screwed.

Jack knows this. Should know this. [ after all, hadn't jack already learned what it's like to lose what makes him, him? ]

It's the principle. That and...that and I'm not entirely convinced he didn't just try it out of petty jealousy.
