This post here is for personal conversations which should happen but one or both of us doesn't want to put up a new post/log and thus we will just thread it out here. You really wanna know? For reals?

Well, we're supposed to be Bonds, right? ... But saying it like that has me feeling sorta slack.

[Oh God you old people and your weird words. She sighs, takes the last few steps, and goes to get a seat on the porch]

...Kinda a catch all thing we day in Versi sometimes. 'Cus it's not always friends there, you know?

Hah. Scoobies. Almost.

[ buffy brushes hair from her eyes. ] Guy trouble, Melaka. That's all.

Hah. I hear you, Summers.

[Guys, so complicated. Mind you, she'd just got minor daddy issues]

...Can't live with them. Tears your heart out to live without them.

[She nods, mostly because she figures that's what Buddy needs. And then... gently puts a hand on her shoulder]

...How do you forgive the guy who failtastically and stupidly tried to hire a Slayer to dust your ex, huh?

...Okay no don't be shocked]

I already talked with 'em about that.

He still tried. And it was the stupidest of stupid moves.

Y'think? [Lightly.]

Oh, I think. And I told him so. Loudly.

Yeah... well, I think even if you're telling me he's good, I don't think I'm gonna trust him yet.

I don't need him to trust Angel, Melaka. I need him to trust me.

I'm just saying, 'fore he's an ex or even 'fore he's a person, the guy's still a lurk.

And one of the baddest lurks that ever did lurk, to boot. I know the story. But...he had no right trying to send you up against Angel.

Didn't he? Not saying I was flattered or it was even that nice, but I dunno if it was stupid.

Say you did agree. I don't know -- whatever hypothetical reason. And say you slayed the big bad vamp. And say he came back in a week, but missing a part of him. The part of him that's keeping Angel from torturing us all. And tearing our throats out. And using every psychological terror he could devise on us. Then we'd be well and royally screwed.

Jack knows this. Should know this. [ after all, hadn't jack already learned what it's like to lose what makes him, him? ]

[... Light punch on the shoulder]

Reality check, Summers - I would never take a hit. [A beat, and then] But I do get you.

[ a grateful nod. ]

It's the principle. That and...that and I'm not entirely convinced he didn't just try it out of petty jealousy.

But it's good to know, y'know? That you're good for it.

I'm a lotta things, and a warrens gal at heart, but never could warm up to killing people. Not for contract, anyway.

Not every girl is so conscientious.
